We are a non-profit communications and design service provider for the social sector.
ABOUT
WithoutViolence (an AssemblyO – Witter gGmbH project) applies lessons learned from our foundational research and from existing behavioural science findings to solutions-focused communications, research and design. Our focus is on advocacy in support of children’s rights, and violence and conflict prevention – as well as the areas intersecting with these issues such as gender equality, health and education.
“Using beautiful design to package impactful content, based on strong research, is the guiding principle we return to every day.”
— Fabio venturini, communications and advocacy director
Our multi-skilled team brings experience from a diverse range of fields such as public policy, academia, advocacy, publishing, design, and film production.
WithoutViolence has become a respected independent voice in the global field of solutions-focused advocacy to governments, policymakers, and philanthropy.
SOLUTIONS-FOCUSED
At WithoutViolence, our focus is on evidence-based solutions and the stories that come with them. We know that the most effective way to develop impactful communications and advocacy tools is in combining data and storytelling.

ADVOCACY
The most important aspect of our work is in adding strength to the advocacy voices of those we work with. Through testing messaging and the effectiveness of the tools we design, our understanding of impactful advocacy continues to grow. Our mission is to share what we have learned.
COMMUNICATIONS
Whether we are drafting an opinion piece for media placement, formulating a policy paper for advocacy to government, or developing an infographic for sharing on social media, the same principals of accuracy, clarity and impactful storytelling apply to everything we do.

DESIGN
We believe that beautiful and effective design is a key component in getting your message noticed by your target audience. The best content in the world can be let down when design is ignored. That's why design is one of the core pillars of our work.

RESEARCH
At WithoutViolence, we pride ourselves on getting to the core of every issue we work on. That means developing a deep understanding of the existing research and conducting our own research when the information isn't already available.

TOPics
WithoutViolence has grown from a project focused on accelerating the impact of advocates working to end violence against children. From that beginning, through the specific interests and areas of expertise of our team, we have a broad focus now on children, violence and conflict prevention, and gender issues.

INTERSECTIONS
One of the biggest lessons we have learned through our work with our many clients and partners has been that no issue stands alone. Social issues tend to intersect with one another. Understanding where these intersections occur and tailoring messages that address these intersections make it possible to build bridges between sectors and strengthen everyone's advocacy message.

These include issue experts and researchers, artists and film makers.
